Project description and sector (up to three relevant areas can be specified for the reference projects of the expression of
interest)
Following a sector study of Apparel Industry in 2016, the Project implemented a one-year project (Feb-17 to Feb-18) which
entailed introducing international industry standards to four Georgian producers, providing them with intensive on-site
advisory to implement these standards and organizing a trade mission to the EU, in order to engage with the buyers and put
Georgia on their map as a potential sourcing destination.
Current contract aims to build on the learning points stemming from the trade mission, as well as the completed 1-year project
overall, and continue supporting Georgian apparel producers via:
1. Improving management systems and marketing in the companies
2. Enabling companies to introduce, or enhance efficiency of existing, full service package delivery to foreign buyers
3. Generating new foreign business linkages and fostering of existing ones
4. Establishing and fostering Private-Public Dialogue platform for the apparel industry
Personnel: Specification of inputs and necessary qualifications
The project aims to contract a group of international experts who will provide the following expertise:
1. Understanding of EU buyer interests and relevant international industry standards
2. Experience of sustainability management within apparel and textile supply chains
3. Implementation of international standards in apparel

factories
4. Experience of improving operations and marketing
management in apparel factories (from sourcing of
inputs to delivery of products to buyers)
5. Experience of identifying and establishing linkages to
new sourcing opportunities for EU buyers
6. Regional experience: EU / Asia / Eastern Europe /
Georgia
The project aims to also contract a national expert who will
provide the following expertise:
1. University Degree in Economics or similar field
2. Implementation of projects with international
organizations
3. Apparel Sector experience
4. Regional experience: Georgia / Eastern Europe and/or
Turkey
Excellent English language proficiency is mandatory for all
experts. Possession of Russian shall be considered as an
advantage.
